In Washington on January 27, in the afternoon, US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Teresa May will negotiate the development of relations between the two countries and exchange views on the development of an international situation. Among the main issues of the international agenda is the future of the NATO Union.
On the eve of Teresa May, speaking in Philadelphia to the participants in the party conference of the Republicans, said that relations with Russia should be built from a perspective of power.
May expressed satisfaction in connection with the victory of the Republican candidate in the November elections. “It is a great honor for me to be with you here today, at the dawn of the new era of the revival of America,” said the head of the British government, addressing the leadership of the Republicans. Teresa May called on the Trump administration not to leave the nuclear agreement with Iran, to protect the countries neighboring with Russia and support international organizations, in particular NATO, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, recognizing that they all need reforms.
Teresa May is the first foreign leader that Donald Trump will meet after taking office as president. A few days before a visit to the United States, the Prime Minister stated that "it was not afraid to express disagreement" with Trump if the views of both politicians are not matching.
