Picketers in support of Yuri Dmitrieva are released

In Moscow, two activists were exempted, detained to promotions in support of the head of the Karelian Memorial. Alexey Belenkin and Sergey Bykovsky were released from the Police of Tverskaya Police. The administrative offenses were drawn up on them. He is charged with a violation of the procedure for holding a public event. The consideration of their cases in the Tver court is scheduled for February 7.

Belenkin and Bykovsky were detained when they stood in single pickets at some distance from each other with posters in support of the chairman of the Karelian regional branch of the Memorial Society Yuri Dmitrieva. The human rights activist was arrested for two months on charges of using a minor for the production of pornographic materials.

Supporters of Dmitriev believe that he is charged with a false charge. The human rights activist himself also called the incident.

In mid -January, Russian writers, scientists, journalists and civil activists made an open letter in support of the head of the Karelian branch of the Memorial Organization Historian Yuri Dmitriev, who was arrested on suspicion of the manufacture of children's pornography.

The appeal states that the charge is based on photographs from the medical "health diary" of his adoptive daughter and bears obvious signs of political provocation related to the activities of the "memorial."
