On the Marse Field in St. Petersburg began a gathering against the transfer of Isaacia of the Russian Orthodox Church

In St. Petersburg, an action is held on the Marse Field against the transfer of the Isaacievsky Cathedral to the Russian Orthodox Church. The rally is not agreed with the local authorities and is held as a meeting with deputies of the Legislative Assembly. The event is attended by deputies Boris Vishnevsky, Alexey Kovalev and Maxim Reznik.

There is a mass picket in support of the transfer of the cathedral, the organizers of the gathering fear clashes. Behind the progress of both shares are observed by police officers, without interrupting the protesting.

On January 10, the governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko announced the transition of the St. Isaac's Cathedral to the Russian Orthodox Church. The decision of the authorities was criticized by politics, artists and residents of the city. Hundreds of people took part in the protest in front of the cathedral.
