The press secretary of the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow, Ekaterina Krasnov, officially confirmed that the leader of the hacker group Shaltai-Boltai, Vladimir Anikeev (Lewis) was arrested. This is reported by Interfax.
As the official said, Anikeev was sent to the pre-trial detention center on November 9, 2016. Before the New Year, December 28, the hacker’s arrest was extended until March 8.
Anikeev was enclosed in the pre-trial detention center-2 of the central headquarters of the FSIN "Lefortovo", unofficially controlled by the FSB. Part 3 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code (illegal access to computer information as part of an organized group), which provides for up to five years of the colony, was imputed. The investigation is conducted by the FSB.
The hacker passes in the same case with the deputy head of the FSB information security center, Sergei Mikhailov, the operative of this center Dmitry Dokuchaev (in the past - FORB haker) and an employee of the Kaspersky Laboratory Ruslan Stayanov, whose arrestbecame known in the middle of last week . According to Interfax, there are only six persons involved, including Anikeev. According to Rosbalt, one of the defendants - an employee of the QIB FSB, who worked under the leadership of Mikhailov - chose a preventive measure not related to arrest.
It was Rosbalt who was the first to write on January 28 about the arrest of Anikeev. According to the agency, the hacker since the beginning of the 2000s has been collecting incriminating evidence for officials and businessmen. He used incriminating evidence for their blackmail. It is alleged that Anikeev participated in the events of the Fund of Effective Policy, headed by Kremlin political scientist Gleb Pavlovsky, and was entered into the presidential administration.
Some time ago, the Rosbalt publications said, Anikiev acquired professional equipment for theft of computer data. After that, the Shaltai-Boltai project was launched, which published stolen information on the Internet. According to the agency, the project participants took the names of the heroes of Alice in Wonderland as pseudonyms, and Anikeev himself is the name of the author of this fairy tale Lewis Carroll.
Subsequently, Rosbalt continues, the operative of the QIB FSB Dokuchaev, at the direction of the authorities, established all the participants of the Shali-Boltai, including Anikeev, but there were no detentions. In the summer of 2016, searches were held in structures associated with the "hiltje-Boltai". It is reported that the deputy chief of the QIB Mikhailov personally met with hackers.
“And then,” says the Rosbalt article, “the resource changed the color somewhat. A large number of not“ broken ”began to appear on it, but clearly by someone transferred to the correspondence, and it touched on the interests of serious persons. After the summer of last year, there had been conversations that the“ Shaly -Bolta “new curator” had.
The immediate reason for the detention of Anikeev, according to Rosbalt, was information about his plans to publish on the Internet the correspondence of Vladislav Surkov, assistant Vladimir Putin. In October, the hacker, who was in Ukraine and was not going to return to their homeland, lured to St. Petersburg, promising a large amount of money for a certain work. There he was detained by the FSB operatives. On what basis Lewis was deprived of freedom before November 9, when he was arrested, Rosbalt explains.
Meanwhile, the agency notes, the publication of the correspondence of Surkov could not interfere with Anikeev’s detention. InOctober - November 2016, two selections of an official of an official appeared on the Internet. Although the publications were made on behalf of the Ukrainian group "Cyberkhunt", in fact, it is alleged, the action was held by Shali-Boltai.
Other members of the "Shali-Boltya" live in Ukraine, in Estonia and Thailand. Some of them Russian authorities put on the wanted list.
Anikeev himself, according to Rosbalt, starting from the second interrogation, began to give detailed testimonies. As expected, it was on the basis of his testimony that Mikhailov and Dokuchaev were detained and arrested in December. In the same month, the head of the Surkov apparatus, Alexander Pavlov, quit. Vedomosti associated this resignation just with a leakage of the correspondence of the Putin assistant.
