Former State Duma deputy from Fair Russia, the current leader of the Volgograd regional branch of the party, Oleg Mikheev, was put on federal wanted list of fraud. This was announced on Monday evening by the Volgograd news agency "Height 102". The reason was Mikheev’s failure to appear in the prosecutor's office to give him an indictment in the case.

The case against Mikheev was opened in March 2013 , after the State Duma, on the proposal of the Prosecutor General’s Office , deprived him of deputy immunity . Part 4 of Article 159 (fraud on an especially large scale; up to 10 years of colony), part 3 of Article 30 - part 4 of Article 159 (attempted crime; up to 6 years 8 months) and part 3 of Article 294 of the Criminal Code are charged with the reference to the reference.

As reported, Mikheev, together with a colleague in the lower house, communist Konstantin Shirshov, offered a certain businessman to buy a mandate of a State Duma deputy. Having received a part of the required amount from him in July 2011 - 66 million rubles - Mikheev and Shirshov promised to include him in the federal list of candidates for deputies of the State Duma of the VI convocation.

Among other crimes imputed by Mikheev, there were unlawful seizures of 14 real estate objects belonging to the Volgograd Motor -Building Plant, for a total of more than 500 million rubles, and an attempt on theft by fraud 2.1 billion rubles of Promsvyazbank.

The reference himself invariably stated that he was not involved in any crimes.

Mikheev was a deputy of the State Duma in 2007-2016. After 2012, he spoke with a number of odious initiatives. Among them are bills on criminal liability for insulting patriotic feelings , for abuse of the Russian anthem , for insulting the memory of the German-Soviet war , for the discrediting of Russia , as well as on the ban on the promotion of violence in the media , literature and the use of sex topics in advertising . Together with Senator Elena Mizulina, he prepared a bill on the ban on Baby boxes .
