An employee of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense received 6 years for stealing radio components worth 40 million rubles

The Moscow District Military Court found guilty an employee of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "18th Central Research Institute" under two articles of the Criminal Code - 159 ("embezzlement") and 292 ("official forgery"), the press service of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office . reports

It is reported that he included expensive radio products in the design documentation, and then stole them. At the same time, in official documents he indicated that these details were written off.

The court assessed the damage caused to the state in the amount of 40.8 million rubles and sentenced the employee of the research institute to six years in a penal colony. He was also deprived of his military rank, state awards and the right to hold certain positions for two years.

The name of the employee is not called, only it is indicated that he was the head of the department.

Recall, on the eve it became known that at the Voronezh Mechanical Plant, in the production of engines for launch vehicles, not precious metals were used, but less heat-resistant materials. Presumably, it was problems in the engine that caused the crash of the Progress space cargo ship in December last year.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that "the production culture there [at the plant] is very weak, it suffers," and that if the employees of the enterprise receive 10-15 thousand rubles, "then we must expect trouble."
