Information about the shelling of the drone of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Donbass is not true. This was reported to Novaya Gazeta by the press service of the organization.
“Contrary to reports in some media, none of the OSCE SMM drones have been attacked lately,” the OSCE Special Mission said.
Earlier Wednesday, the operational command of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said that the Ukrainian side allegedly attacked an OSCE unmanned aerial vehicle in the sky over Makiivka.
“Yesterday at 23:38, a Buk air defense missile launch was recorded from the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Avdiivka area,” the quoted a representative of the command as saying. Donetsk News Agency
The DPR claimed that rocket fragments were found in the area of Makeyevka City Hospital No. 5.
Fighting in the area of Avdiivka and Donetsk has been going on for several days. The UN Security Council called for an immediate return to the ceasefire in Donbas and expressed "its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission over the weekend recorded the presence of tanks and howitzers near Avdiivka and more frequent violations of the silence regime.
