In Chechnya, the father of the militant IS Rashidov was stolen by security forces

In Chechnya, the security forces abducted Movsar Rashidov, whose son Magomed Rashidov fights in Syria on the side of the Islamic State. This was reported by the "Caucasus. Realities" with reference to the relatives of the missing person.

The 52-year-old Rashidov Sr. previously headed the laboratory at the Faculty of Geographical of the Chechen University, and then got a job at the Republican Ecological and Biological Center of Chechnya-an additional education institution for schoolchildren. The center’s website says that Rashidov works as a senior methodologist; Meanwhile, on the website of the children's environmental movement "Green Planet", it is called the deputy director of the center.

On January 11, the geographer was detained by employees of an unknown power structure, and since then there is no information about his fate.

The relatives of Rashidov are afraid that he is in the hands of the services, personally controlled by the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, and they are crushing him, trying to return his son from Syria to Chechnya.

According to relatives, Rashidov Jr. really left Tbilisi to Syria in 2014. The father came to the base of the preparation of recruits and persuaded his son to return home, but he refused. Since then, Magomed Rashidov has not got in touch with his father.

As the "Caucasian knot" conveyed , in the evening of January 29, a battle occurred in Shali between the alleged jihadists and police officers. Three participants in the underground and two security forces were killed. Kadyrov said that the actions of the Islamists led Rashidov Jr. from Syria.

The next day, the head of Chechnya said on his Instagram: "Rashidov’s father publicly cursed his son and said that the news of the death of his son would be the best reward for him."

“I repeat once again that parents, relatives and friends are obliged to bear responsibility for the criminal actions of the bandits or give them to the police,” Kadyrov emphasized.

Meanwhile, there is no Rashidov Sr. Rashidova.

According to Panlog, in 2013, the geographer was nominated to the Chechnya Parliament from the Green party.
