In the Moscow region, a case of hooliganism was opened against a teenager who danced against the backdrop of the Eternal Flame.

Investigators near Moscow opened a criminal case against a young man who danced next to the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in Orekhovo-Zuyevo, reports the press service of the Investigative Committee’s department for the Moscow region.

Investigators found that on January 28, 2017, a 16-year-old local resident, while near the monument on Vokzalnaya Square in Orekhovo-Zuevo, committed “provocative and offensive actions, namely, dancing near the ritual fire.”

The Investigative Committee noted that the teenager “grossly violated public order, neglecting the rules of behavior in a place calling for honoring the memory of soldiers who died in the fight against fascism.” The young man, according to the department, “expressed clear disrespect for society,” acting out of hostility toward the social group “Veterans of the Great Patriotic War.”

A case of hooliganism based on ideological hatred was opened against the teenager (clause “b” of Part 1 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code).

Earlier, on his VKontakte page, the young man apologized for the dance. He explained that he shot the video without intent and out of stupidity, and he himself did not want to insult the memory of the fallen soldiers.
