
Three accused of organizing riots in Yerevan in July 2016 were sentenced to three years in prison.
According to the correspondent of Interfax, the decision was made on Thursday by the Yerevan court.
The accused Arsen Mkrtumyan, Gagik Mikaelyan and Soso Margaryan are found guilty of the use of violence against police officers and incitement to riots.
On July 17 last year, a group of armed persons calling themselves "Sasna Tsrer" captured the patrol and post-post regiment of the police in Yerevan. They killed the policeman and wounded four people. The radicals demanded the liberation of the coordinator of the Armenian opposition civilian initiative "Constituent Parliament" by Girair Sephilyan, who is arrested on charges of illegal acquisition and storage of weapons.
