The US Treasury Military District Softened FSB sanctions

The US Department of Finance softened sanctions against the Russian Federal Security Service. This was reported on the website of the department.

According to the new order, “all transactions and actions” with the participation of the FSB are resolved. The document allows you to receive licenses and permits of the FSB for the export of information technology. At the same time, “export or re -export” of goods and services to the Crimea is prohibited.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov advised not to rush with conclusions. “We know, on the example of rocket engines, that American partners never start their needs under sanctions,” he said.

On January 27, US President Donald Trump called the “premature” issue of the abolition of anti -Russian sanctions. Presidential Assistant Kelienne Konway said that the White House was discussing the abolition of sanctions, but did not specify what exactly was being discussed.

For the first time, sanctions against Russia were imposed in 2014 due to the accession of Crimea, the FSB fell under their effect in December 2016.

RBC suggested that new sanctions would cause problems in the supply of equipment to Russia, including mobile phones and tablets. This is due to the fact that all devices with encryption function should be agreed with the FSB, but the introduction of sanctions deprived suppliers of the opportunity to contact the department.
