If you collect some more money, then the first Yekaterinburg hospice will have the third floor
We help the Roizman Foundation helpA ray of bright winter sun breaks through tightly closed curtains. At some point, he wanted to isolate himself from the whole world and die as soon as possible. Pain, and more despair from the inability to change anything, were unbearable. Native people who tried to find words of consolation seemed ill and intrusive. I did not want to see anyone and hear the words about what should be hoped. There is no hope, it remains to count the days. A month or two? Better soon.
Three weeks in the hospice seemed a chance to spend the remaining days without painful attention from relatives and friends. Only doctors who understand everyone and know how to relieve pain. They don’t have to say anything. You can quietly wait for the end.
On the first evening, revival reigned in the hospice. The creak, awkward steps in the corridor, quiet, and then confident sounds of music. From the first minutes, Beethoven immerses in the magic of the melody and makes you remember that evening when he and his future wife, gently holding hands, walked from a concert in the Philharmonic. That evening, he promised to always be with her, no matter what happened. How is she now? Does this evening remember?
The music subsided and applause was heard. He got up and left the ward. Bright light, a thrill in the expectation of the holiday and pale faces in the small concert hall of the hospice. For the first time in a few months, he thought not about pain and imminent death, but about music and recalled the most pleasant evenings in his life, filled with romantic experiences, communication with loved ones and hopes for the future.
When the next morning his wife timidly crossed the threshold of the chamber, the curtains were still drawn. The ray of the winter but bright sun was still hoping to get into the cozy room. He got up, went to his wife and hugged her. Less than a day has passed since the moment he ended up in the hospice, but the acute sense of longing for loved ones has already managed to supplant physical pain. He hastened to open the curtains and let in the sun. Now all thoughts were about how much I need to say and do in these remaining months. And now they will go to the park. In the center of one and a half million Yekaterinburg, it is difficult to find an equally secluded place as in this small park near the hospice. Here is such a bright winter sun ...
Kindness, compassion and mercy work stronger than any weaponA lot of such stories in the Yekaterinburg Hospice can tell you a lot. Honestly sick people help to live here, relieved physical and mental pain. Help change their attitude to the disease. And relatives help to find new forces to be near a dying person. It is difficult, but feasible.
On the New Year's Eve, a portrait of Dr. Lisa and the word appeared on the wall of the hospice: "Kindness, compassion and mercy work stronger than any weapons." It is they who work the miracles in which the doctors and patients of the hospice believe so. Thanks to the help of the inhabitants of Yekaterinburg and philanthropists, a little food has been organized here for several months, volunteers have been arranging master classes and concerts, a unique library has been collected, and paintings of the Ural artists hang on bright walls.
The state gave the most necessary: the premises, anesthesia, some equipment and salary to employees. For everything else, funds are required. Thanks to help - your help! - For the first Yekaterinburg hospice, more than 850 thousand rubles have already been raised. These funds will go not only for the current needs of the hospice, but also to create new places in it.
There is such an opportunity! Now in the building where the hospice is located, the third floor is “preserved”. These are the premises remaining from the children's infectious diseases hospital located here. So far, everything is as it was once in a children's infectious diseases hospital: white walls painted with oil paint, creaky heavy doors covered with several layers of the same paint, wooden drying frames, drafts and silence. It is unlikely that these walls are able to extend the life of a seriously ill person, rather kill him. In our power to repair it, giving a chance to adequately live the last days of two more dozen people monthly.
Please support the hospice: arrange a small but monthly donation. Please do it right now. Opening the curtains in the morning, you will know that the ray of the Sun, who has fallen on your windowsill, now sees another person - a mortally ill patient of the Hospice, to whom you gave another day of a worthy life.
The donation is made out very easily from any bank card. If you have a financial situation, you can cancel it at any time. And we will regularly report to you and guarantee the intended use of your money.
