In the city of Engels, Saratov Region, a court placed a boy, born in 2004, who had made a false denunciation, in the Center for Juvenile Offenders for ten days.

The prosecutor's office explained that because of his age, it was impossible to initiate a criminal case against him, however, "in order to prevent him from committing repeated socially dangerous acts," it was proposed to place him in an institution under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
