In Kyiv, the door of VTB Bank was blocked
Activists of the National Corps party welded the front door of the Russian bank VTB in the center of Kyiv. This is reported by the agency Analytical News Service.
“About 50 activists of the National Corps party, mostly young people, at about 10:30 on Friday, February 3, poured paint over the entrance to the bank, covered the windows and doors with leaflets. Activists also installed iron bars near the entrance, welding them to the doors of the building,” the statement said.
It is noted that the police officers who were at the scene did not intervene in what was happening.
Similar actions were also carried out by party supporters on January 30 and February 1. Then the activists picketed Sberbank and other subsidiaries of Russian banks operating in Ukraine. In their opinion, in this way they protect the national economic interests of Ukraine.
The events in Kyiv are taking place against the backdrop of an aggravation of the conflict in Dobass. According to official Kyiv, Russia should bear responsibility for what is happening. So, on the eve of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that "Moscow is putting Avdiivka on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe."
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in turn , believes that the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass is connected with an attempt by Kiev to “present itself as a victim” and receive financial support from Western countries.
Fighting in the area of Avdiivka and Donetsk has been going on for several days. The UN Security Council called for an immediate return to the ceasefire in Donbas and expressed "its full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."
