Serebrennikov, Netrebko and Musicaeterna nominated for Opera Awards

Among the 2017 International Opera Awards nominees, director Kirill Serebrennikov, Soprano Anna Netrebko, Moscow State Academic Children's Musical Theater named after Natalia Satz and Musicaeterna Perm Opera and Ballet Theater named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.

Together with Kirill Serebrennikov, Robert Karsen (Canada), Tatyana Gyurbak (Germany), Nigel Lauri (Great Britain), Christophe Loy (Germany) and Damiano Mikeletto (Italy) are applying for a prize in the directorial nomination.

In addition to Anna Netrebko, Maria Bengson (Sweden), Stephanie d'Ustrak (France), Christian Karg (Germany), Anita Rachvvelishvili (Georgia) and Daniela Sindram (Germany) are represented in the nomination “Singer”.

In the educational nomination, in addition to the children's musical theater named after Natalia Sats, the Netherlands National Opera (Amsterdam), Glaindborns Opera Opera (Berlin), the Chicabo-Capago Opera (Cape Town) were put forward to the prize.

In the choir nomination, Musicaeterna will compete with the named after Arnold Schlenberg (Austria), as well as choirs of Chicago opera theaters (USA), Stuttgart (Germany), Sydney (Australia) and Lidsa (Great Britain).

The International Opera Awards Award was created in 2012 by an English businessman and fan of opera art Harry Haiman and Opera Magazine editor and musical critic The Sunday Telegraph John Elison, who is now heading the jury of the award.

International Opera Awards 2017 will be announced in London on May 7.
