At the same time, the name of the candidate Basargin did not name. He added a zlot that he does not intend to participate in the upcoming elections. "I decided not to go to the elections for a new governor's deadline. This decision is verified, thought out," Basargin said.
The governor did not specify what he intends to do further, emphasizing that he refers himself to the president’s team, and expressed confidence that his experience would be in demand.
“Of course, 2017 is a year that predetermines the development of both the Russian Federation and the Perm Territory for the nearest, at least 10 years. In this regard, it is very important that during this period there is political, economic stability in the region. It depends on the consolidation of society, on all the inhabitants of the region, all political, social movements move in the same direction,” he added.
Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has not yet confirmed that Vladimir Putin accepted the resignation of Basargin. "We will inform the media when the president makes the corresponding decision," Peskov TASS said .
Basargin served as the governor of the Perm Territory since May 2012. Before that, from October 2008, he has been the Minister of Regional Development.
On the eve of the upcoming resignation of Basargin, he told Rain, referring to his own sources.
