The Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow sentenced former deputy Khamovnichesky interdistrict prosecutor Yulia Gorbacheva to five years in a general regime colony and fined her three million rubles for attempting to hand over a bribe to a judge. this RAPSI reports with reference to court press secretary Evgenia Gorokhova.
At the end of October 2015, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, citing official representative of the Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin, reported that Gorbachev was detained while trying to transfer a bribe to a federal judge in the Khamovnichesky Court. According to the Investigative Committee, the money was transferred in foreign currency (which one is not specified): at the current exchange rate of the ruble at that time, the bribe amounted to three million rubles.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, unidentified people who tried to transfer a bribe to the judge through Deputy Prosecutor Gorbachev wanted to achieve a mitigation of the sentence for one person involved in the criminal case and the appointment of “the very minimum sentence” for the second. The newspaper did not report what kind of criminal case they were talking about.
During the investigation, Gorbachev was under house arrest. After the verdict, she was taken into custody. RAPSI clarifies that the woman was accused of two episodes of mediation in bribery: on a large scale and on an especially large scale (parts 3 and 4 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code).
