The Investigative Committee for the Trans-Baikal Territory opened a criminal case after the abortion of a 15-year-old pupil of the Chita orphanage named after Podgorbunsky (formerly orphanage No. 1). This was reported on the website of the regional Investigative Committee.
The case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 134 of the Criminal Code (sexual intercourse with a person under the age of sixteen, committed by a person who has reached the age of eighteen). According to the Investigative Committee, in November 2016, an 18-year-old young man, without the use of physical force, had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old orphanage student, knowing her age. The investigation has not yet established his identity.
At the end of January, the Investigative Committee received an appeal from the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Trans-Baikal Territory, who was approached by several employees of the Chita Children's Center named after Podgorbunsky. They reported an attempt [by Roskomnadzor] on a 15-year-old pupil who was drunk, and on an abortion of another 15-year-old pupil of this children's center.
