Workers who beat janitors for two days for calling the police were convicted in Moscow

The Koptevsky District Court of Moscow sentenced former employees of the State Budgetary Institution “Zhilischnik Timiryazevsky District”, 24-year-old Nikolai Kondrattsev and 23-year-old Daniil Zuev, for kidnapping and beating two janitors “for educational purposes.” Kondrattsev received six years, Zuev - five years in a maximum security colony, according to the website of the Moscow prosecutor's office.

The incident occurred in September 2015, when Kondrattsev and Zuev worked as site foreman at the State Budgetary Institution “Zhilishchnik Timiryazevsky District”. Two janitors from the Belgorod region worked in the same institution and lived illegally on the premises of the State Budgetary Institution. The defendants learned that the janitors called the police to resolve a conflict with their colleagues, and decided to “teach them a lesson” for this.

On September 14, 2015, Kondrattsev and Zuev, threatening to kill and using violence, deceived the janitors in a car to the territory of the mechanical base, which is located on Timiryazevskaya Street. After forcibly holding the janitors for almost two days, the accused beat, insulted and abused them. The men managed to escape two days later when Zuev took them to his father's garage to help with housework.

As the prosecutor's office clarifies, Kondrattsev and Zuev were accused of kidnapping two people, committed by a group of people by prior conspiracy, with the threat of violence dangerous to life and health (points “a, c, g” of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code). The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
