“Rosbalt”: the investigation intends to charge Anikeev, who was arrested in the “Humpty Dumpty” case, with hacking the mailboxes of four people

The FSB Investigation Department intends to complete the investigation into the hacker group “Humpty Dumpty” in April and bring final charges against its alleged leader, Rosbalt writes , citing a source familiar with the situation.

According to the source, Anikeev is charged with four counts of unlawful access to computer information (Part 3 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code). “We are talking about hacking into the electronic mailboxes of citizens who can hardly be classified as VIPs, and the subsequent posting of the contents of these mailboxes on the Internet,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.

“Rosbalt” assumes that “most likely, taking into account repentance and a deal with the investigation, Anikeev will receive a suspended sentence,” the materials regarding him will be separated into separate proceedings, and they will be considered by the court in St. Petersburg - at the place where the accused was detained and the carriers were found correspondence. As the publication recalls, Anieev was detained by FSB officers in the fall of 2016 at St. Petersburg Pulkovo airport.

Along with Anikeev, Alexander Filinov and Konstantin Teplyakov, who are also called participants in “Humpty Dumpty,” were arrested.

Anikeev, according to Kommersant, gave a confession, with the help of which the head of the department of the FSB Information Security Center, Sergei Mikhailov, was detained. Anikeev's lawyer Ruslan Koblevclaims that these cases are in no way connected.

Mikhailov himself is accused of high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code) and, according to Rosbalt, initially confessed, but later retracted it. In the same case with Mikhailov, his subordinate Dmitry Dokuchaev and Kaspersky Lab employee Ruslan Stoyanov were arrested.
