The government increased spending on the 2018 World Cup by 19 billion rubles.

The cost of hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup was increased by RUB 19 billion. Corresponding amendments to the program of preparation for the world championship, according to Interfax , were approved by the government.

The total cost of hosting the 2018 World Cup increased from RUB 619.6 billion to up to 638.8 billion. In this case, the increase will occur at the expense of the federal budget, the costs of which increased from 331.3 billion to 350.4 billion rubles.

According to the document, the expenses of the regions will amount to 92.2 billion, private investment by legal entities - 196.2 billion rubles.

The last time the costs of preparing for the 2018 World Cup were increased in September last year - then they were raised by 1.4 billion rubles. (from 618.266 billion rubles to 619.671 billion rubles).
