Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia Alexei Tsydenov temporarily acting heads of Buryatia. This was reported on the official website of the president.

Earlier on Tuesday, the governor of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn announced his early resignation. The term of powers of Nagovitsyn expires in May. In a statement by the president, he asked to use his potential in a public office.

Nagovitsyn led the region since 2007, before that he headed the government of the Tomsk region. Tsydenov has held posts in the Ministry of Transport since 2006, and before that he worked with Russian Railways structures.

The day before, the President of Russia accepted the early resignation of the Governor of the Perm Territory Viktor Basargin. The head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy, Maxim Reshetnikov, was appointed temporarily acting head of the region.

According to the sources of the Vedomosti newspaper, which are close to the Kremlin, in the near future, it is expected that several more governors of a number of so -called “problematic regions” will leave their posts.
