The head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg, Sergei Umnov, said at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly on February 8 that his department had asked the prosecutor's office to check three deputies of the Legislative Assembly after a meeting on the Field of Mars dedicated to the transfer of St. Isaac's Cathedral to the Russian Orthodox Church. It is reported by "Fontanka".
Umnov noted that up to a certain point, the meeting on January 28 on the Field of Mars had the format of a meeting with voters, however, “during the event, when sound-amplifying equipment began to be used, questions arose that were not related to the meeting with voters (we know that voters should be met in particular county). We have some questions. We prepared the documents, but due to the fact that the deputies enjoy immunity, we sent them to the prosecutor’s office.” The names of the deputies were not named.
Also now, an official check has been organized in relation to the assistants of the deputies who participated in the action in connection with a possible violation of the law on civil service.
