
Users leading online broadcasts on YouTube will be able to get money for watching their content using the Super Chat service. This was reported on the video service blog.
Initially, the function will be available to users whose subscribers exceeds 10 thousand, the creators promise to provide access to this service in the near future. The first to test bloggers from 20 countries of the world and spectators from 40 states. Russia is currently part of the category of spectators.
The viewer, watching online broadcast, will be able to “buy” messages in the common chat, which will be allocated in a separate color and be over all comments for up to five hours.
“Super Chat gives the audience the opportunity to add a slightly visual component to their chats, and the creators provide a new way to keep in touch with their fans, while earning a little money,” said YouTube.
On January 13, the State Duma in the first reading adopted a bill limiting the activities of online cinemas in Russia. It provides that foreign persons will not be able to own the audiovisual services present in the Russian market by more than 20%. We are talking about sites whose audience exceeds 100 thousand inhabitants of the Russian Federation per month (or 20 thousand users, if the service is created for one subject of the country).
In connection with the consideration of this initiative, the Media Communication Union warned that after the adoption of the bill, YouTube may be banned. The Ministry of Communications assured that the video service would not fall under the restrictions.
