Iran made another test of a ballistic missile, says the American television company FoxNews . The State Department confirmed that they are studying information about the test, but indicated another type of rocket - "air - earth".
Fox claims that Iran launched a ballistic missile from a launching pad located east of Tehran. From the same Semnan site at the end of January, a medium -range missile launched. Then she flew about 600 km.
This time, according to the source of the television company, Iran launched a low -range missile "Earth - Air" type Mersad, which exploded, flying less than 50 km.
At the same time, the Russian State Department representative of the US Department of State said that they were studying the launch of a rocket of a different class - "air - Earth". “We know about media reports that say that Iran launched the air -Earth class rocket. We study them, until at the moment we can’t say anything else,” he said.
The representative of the American Foreign Ministry also emphasized that Washington "will continue to resist the support of Iran of terrorism, destabilizing actions in the region, violations of human rights and a program for developing ballistic missiles, including by introducing sanctions if necessary."
The UN Security Council resolution number 2231 of July 20, 2015 forbids Iran to test ballistic missiles.
The United States last week expanded anti -Iranian sanctions, adding 13 people and 12 structures to black lists. The restrictions were introduced against those who are related to the Tiegran development program of ballistic missiles or in any way supported the Islamic Revolutionary Corps - the elite units of the army.
