The Saratov Region Prosecutor's Office is checking media reports that a hearse arrived at the 92-year-old woman who called an ambulance before the doctors. this . reports RIA Novosti

The inspection is related to a possible violation of the rights of residents of Saratov due to the transfer of personal data of citizens to funeral agency workers by emergency services, the prosecutor’s office notes.

The day before, Svobodnye Novosti published the story of Saratov resident Alexander Ivanov, who said that at the end of January, when his 92-year-old grandmother became ill, he called an ambulance, but instead of doctors, the funeral team of the Ritual MUSPP came to the house.

“I called 112 from my wife’s phone and asked to be connected to an ambulance station. At the same time, when registering the call, I gave my personal phone number, which excludes the technical possibility of third parties receiving my phone number. I informed the duty officer about my grandmother’s age and signs characterizing the condition as pre-stroke, since she lost consciousness and fell to the floor. At the same time, I began to wait for the ambulance. The ambulance drove for about an hour,” Ivanov said.

Looking out the window, he noticed that instead of the expected ambulance, a hearse from the funeral company Ritual and Lada Priora had arrived at his house. Only after another forty minutes did the doctors arrive.

At the same time, Ivanov began receiving phone calls from people who introduced themselves as employees of the ambulance station and asked questions about the condition of his grandmother.

“As soon as the doctors left our house, my phone received a call again. At the other end of the line they again inquired about my grandmother’s health condition and, having learned that the situation had improved, hung up. The next day I accidentally met my neighbor, and he asked me who the funeral workers were visiting. Only after that I realized that this car was intended for my grandmother,” the man is indignant.

When he called the number from which he received calls on behalf of the ambulance station doctors, it turned out that this phone was used by the Ritual enterprise.

The Ministry of Health responded to a request from Svobodnye Novosti that the information presented was not confirmed, and the doctors did not pass on the Saratov resident’s number to the funeral service staff.
