In pre-trial detention center No. 3 in Chelyabinsk, as a result of the accident, the electricity was turned off, because of this, those arrested remain in their cells and cannot go to court hearings, writes “Ura.ru” with reference to the lawyer of one of the accused.
The press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Chelyabinsk Region confirmed the fact of the accident to the publication.
“The heating radiator in the administrative building of the pre-trial detention center headquarters burst. Due to the threat of flooding of the electrical switchboard, it was decided to cut off the power to the room,” said the acting officer. Olga Emelyanova, head of the department's press service.
As the publication notes, pre-trial detention center-3 was built in Chelyabinsk in 1948. The detention center is designed for 1,081 detainees.
