The Supreme Court upheld the sentence of a participant in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case

On February 9, the Supreme Court Collegium for Military Affairs refused to satisfy the appeal against the sentence of Marcel Gabbasov, convicted of involvement in the activities of the banned organization Hizb ut-Tahrir. Thiswas reported by the SOVA information and research center.

Thus, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the sentence imposed on Nizhnevartovsk resident Marcel Gabbasov by the Volga District Military Court on October 31, 2016 for participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and inciting hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code) . Gabbasov was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of 55.8 thousand rubles.
