The total cost of building the Zenit Arena football stadium in St. Petersburg amounted to about 43 million rubles, said the vice-governor of the city of Igor Albin. At the end of October, the St. Petersburg Construction Committee reported that the estimated cost of the construction of the arena, taking into account additional contracts, is 41.7 billion .
At the same time, in all likelihood, the new amount voiced by the authorities is not final. It is planned that until April 1, work on temporary infrastructure and adaptation of the arena to the requirements of FIFA will be carried out at the stadium, TASS reports.
Today, the first mass event took place at the Zenit Arena: almost 10 thousand spectators were invited to the stadium, who wanted to see the results of the resonant construction with their own eyes. Visitors in down jackets and fur coats for an hour with a little watched the performance of the artists invited by the authorities, and then the ex-football player of Zenit Vyacheslav Malafeev, who called the stadium "Fulfilling Dream", came out onto the stage.
It should be noted that on January 31, the head of the Transparency International anti-corruption center in St. Petersburg, Dmitry Sukharev said that the real value of the “dreams” stadium is 6.2 billion rubles more than the authorities indicate .
Sukharev, in particular, presented a table, which includes all the well -known organizations for the construction of the arena from 2006 to 2016: “Already, 47.9 billion rubles (1.3 billion dollars have been paid). And the amount can reach (and most likely, in the near future) 50.6 billion rubles,” the expert for corruption wrote.
Recall that Zenit-Arena began to be erected in 2007 and planned to be completed back in 2009. But then the deadlines for the surrender of the stadium were repeatedly moved away. Over the years, his official estimate has grown six times, starting from 6.7 billion rubles.
