Daria Domracheva and her husband Ole Einar Bjoerndalen won medals at the Biathlon World Championships on the same day

Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva and her Norwegian husband Ole Einar Björndalen won medals at the World Championships on the same day.

Darya Domracheva took second place in the pursuit race, Bjoerndalen was ahead of Russian Anton Shipulin and took bronze in the same discipline. The Norwegian wrote that he was "more than pleased with the bronze."

Domracheva congratulated her husband on Instagram.

“It was great to see how Daria rushes to her goal, with our daughter Xenia in her arms,” said the Norwegian.

Domracheva and Bjoerndalen got married in July 2016. In October, their daughter was born.

• Ole Einar Björndalen is now 43 years old. He won his first medal at the World Championships 20 years ago. Since then, he has won 13 Olympic medals (there was no other win in any sport at the Winter Games) and won 95 personal victories at the stages of the Biathlon World Cup.
• Daria Domracheva is a three-time Olympic champion - she won all three golds in Sochi in 2014. She also became the world champion twice.
• The last time the couple won medals on the same day was at the 2004 World Championships . Then Liv-Grete Poiret won gold in the pursuit race, her husband Raphael took second place; then at the same tournament they won gold in the mass starts.
