The State Duma will develop the laws of robotics. This was told by State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Interfax reports.
“According to forecasts, in 2022, laws will be adopted everywhere that will regulate the relationship of man and robot,” said Volodin.
The chairman of the lower house of the parliament said that he intends to create a council under the chairman of the State Duma on the legislative support of the development of a digital environment. It will include leading IT industry experts, added Volodin. However, he did not specify who would specifically deal with the development of laws.
At the moment, not in any country there is a single law governing the relationship of robots and people.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Mail.ru Group Dmitry Grishin in December 2016 wrote a bill on robots. In it, in particular, it was proposed to describe which robots can be dangerous for a person, who will be responsible for their actions. The draft law also proposed to create a register of robots. Grishin stated that the bill developed by him may become the basis for the Law “On Robotics” and on its basis amendments to the Civil Code will be made.
