The Governor of the Novgorod Region Sergey Mitin announced the early addition of authority, Interfax reports.
He also decided not to participate in the governor’s elections that will be held in the region in 2017.
According to Mitin, he leaves his post of his own free will. The head of the region added that he had already asked the President of Russia about a new place of work.
As the Interfax recalls, Mitin served as the Novgorod governor since 2007. It was reported that the new governor of the Novgorod region may be the General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) Andrei Nikitin, writes TASS.
The ambulance of Mitin, as well as the heads of several other regions, wrote “Vedomosti” in early February. Later, the Governor of the Perm Territory Viktor Basargin and the head of Buryatia Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn left their posts.
