
A bill has been submitted to the State Duma, which implies criminal liability for the “propaganda of exclusivity, superiority or inferiority” of a person or group of persons. The author of the initiative is the State Duma deputy from the LDPR Sergey Ivanov.
The bill published on the website of the lower house of parliament involves amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. It is proposed to initiate a case for “propaganda of the exclusivity, superiority or inferiority of a person or group of people according to the grounds of gender, race, nationality, language, origin, attitude to religion, as well as belonging to any social group”, committed publicly, using the media or the Internet.
The document involves a punishment in the amount of 100 thousand to 300 thousand rubles. or deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions for up to three years.
Also in the bill it is proposed to amend part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code of Russia - on the initiation of hatred or enmity. The author of the initiative believes that it is necessary to attract under this article only in the event of socially dangerous consequences.
