Putin appointed the acting head of the Ryazan region

The temporarily acting governor of the Ryazan region was appointed State Duma deputy from the United Russia party Nikolai Lyubimov. The corresponding decree was signed by President Vladimir Putin, according to the Kremlin website.

The former head of the Ryazan region Oleg Kovalev resigned earlier on Tuesday. He worked for the post of governor for nine years. According to Kovalev, he is not going to participate in the election of the new head of the region, which is expected to be held in September.

Over the past two weeks, four Russian governors have resigned ahead of schedule. In addition to Kovalev, the heads of the Novgorod region, Buryatia and the Perm Territory left their posts. According to the media, in the near future, several more leaders of the so -called "problem regions" will resign.
