Siberia is shaped and Stalin in the works of Soviet artists shown at an exhibition in Novosibirsk

The Novosibirsk Museum of Local Lore presented the works of famous Novosibirsk artists of the 1930-1950s, dedicated to revolutionary plots. The Saudadi stock exhibition for the centenary of the revolution united the Soviet painters Ivan Tyutikov, Grigory Likman, Pavel Yakubovsky.

The Saudadi exhibition opened in the Novosibirsk Museum of Local Lore since February 11, the press service of the institution said.

The art of the 1930-1950s was formed by the state: the landscape and portrait faded into the background, and the historical genre, on the contrary, became the main one, the museum’s press service explained. At this time, artists took part in the exhibitions, who completely devoted their work to the events and the heroes of the revolution. For example, in January 1940, sketches of the expected paintings for the exhibition for the twentieth anniversary of the liberation of Siberia from Kolchak were approved: “Candalal Siberia” by Ivan Tyutikov, “The escape of Comrade Stalin from the Narymsky link” and “Maevka in Naryma with the participation of Comrade Kuibyshev” Grigory Likman.

These works, collected in the same hall and comprehensively reflecting the close connection of the state and art, the views and mood of the people of that time, are presented at the Saudai exhibition on Krasnoye Prospekt, 23.
