The case of Oksana Sevastidi in the Supreme Court

On February 15, at 10:00, the Supreme Court will decide whether to restore the appeal of the appeal in the case of Oksana Sevastidi - a resident of Sochi, a convicted guilty of Gosizmen and sentenced to seven years for sending two SMS to Georgia on the eve of the August events of 2008. If the arguments of the defense of Sevastidi are recognized as convincing, the appeal against the verdict can be considered on the same day. The meeting will be held closed. It is expected that Sevastidi will be delivered to the Supreme Court. Her interests are represented by lawyer Ivan Pavlov.

In December last year, Vladimir Putin called the sentence unreasonably tough . He promised to figure out the case in order to "understand the essence" of the accusations brought by Sevastidi.

The verdict was sentenced on March 4, 2016 by the judge of the Krasnodar Kraisud Vladimir Kobzev. However, the case of Sevastidi became known only on December 1.
