The court refused to accept the complaint against the sentence of Evgenia Chudnovets

On February 15, the Kurgan Regional Court refused to accept a cassation appeal against the sentence of Yevgenia Chudnovets, convicted for reposting a video with a child. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Vasily Shalay, assistant to the chairman of the court.

Based on the results of the study of the cassation appeal of the defender Chudnovets and the cassation presentation of the prosecutor's office of the region, the Kurgan Regional Court issued a decision that refused to transfer the materials for further consideration by the regional court,

Vasily Shalay, assistant to the chairman of the court, said. The court did not find grounds for reviewing the sentence: no new arguments or circumstances were presented.

On November 10, 2016, the Katai District Court of the Kurgan Region sentenced teacher Yevgenia Chudnovets to six months in prison on charges of distributing child porn for reposting a video on her page on the social network VKontakte, which depicted abuse of a naked child in the toilet children's camp in the city of Kataysk, Kurgan region. According to Chudnovets, she wanted to draw public attention to these bullying. The court of second instance reduced the term of imprisonment by only a month, despite the fact that not only the defense , but also the prosecution asked not to deprive her of her freedom.
