Maria Maksakov is expelled from United Russia

The ex-deputy of the State Duma, Maria Maksakov, will be expelled from United Russia. According to TASS, the secretary of the Moscow party department Andrei Metelsky announced this. According to him, the reason for the exclusion was Maksakova’s dual citizenship.

"We received information about dual citizenship, this does not correspond to the status of a party member, according to our charter, and contradicts the charter. Accordingly, we will exclude it from the party based on this norm," Metelsky said. According to him, if Maksakova does not agree with such a decision, she will be able to appeal him to higher party instances.

Metelsky also stated that in United Russia they did not know about Maria Maksakova citizenship of Germany. “In fact, it was a deception, because she did not indicate anywhere that she had a second citizenship,” Metelsky said.

“As you understand, we accepted it to the party, and not to work for the public service. Accordingly, the audit was softer. We are based on the data that the candidate gives and do not check through law enforcement agencies or in some other way,” he added.

The head of the Moscow branch called the situation "not very beautiful." “What has been done is really ugly, in my opinion, this is probably not very worthy of the opera singer,” Metelsky added. The issue of exclusion from the party, according to him, will be considered on Thursday at a meeting of the regional political council.

On the eve of Maksakova,in an interview with Medusa, she said that she was a German citizen. Prior to this, it became known that Maksakov would be fired from the Gnesins Academy, where she is listed as a teacher. The educational institution noted that it is absent in the workplace, and other teachers are working for it.

Maksakova is the wife of the former State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Denis Voronenkov. The day before, he stated that he accepted Ukrainian citizenship . “I left because I just don’t want to live in lies and hypocrisy anymore,” the ex -deputy said. “You are going to where you can find business, and Ukraine is the second native country for me.”

Voronenkov also stated that he did not participate in the vote about the annexation of Crimea, his cards were voted by colleagues in the Communists faction. "The decision of the Communist Party faction was to vote for the accession of Crimea, and they voted in place with a card, although I did not give a power of attorney to vote. Then I saw what difficult consequences this vote led to, and today I think this is a gross mistake. My mistake and Russia's mistake. And this mistake needs to be corrected," the former deputy said.

Voronenkov also confirmed the testimony against the former president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. “Yes, I testified in the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine in the case of the ex -president of Ukraine Yanukovych, who really betrayed his country, was involved in the massacres of people who escaped to another country and called on the troops of another state to destroy his people.
