The writer Zakhar Prilepin became the Major of the DPR, having arrived in the Donbass to work as a political officer of one of the battalions. “It was no impulse, but a conscious choice, we are all adults, and I have been helping Donbass for many months in this war,” Zakhar Prilepin said by telephone by phone. But he refused a personal thorough conversation.

On February 16, it became known that a criminal case was opened against Prilepin in Ukraine. The investigation is carried out under the articles “Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization” and “Financing of terrorism”.

The news is expressive: the writer goes to fight for the “Russian world”, through pro -government media urging everyone to join, fall at once and reach the very Kyiv. The only thing that discourages in this news is its date. Such a statement of a well-known figure would look natural in 2014, well, or as a maximum in 2015. When volunteers with all over Russia, in fact, were traveling with whole wagons to the Russian-Ukrainian border, and state television poured an endless stream of horrors about Kyiv fascists and punishers on the audience.

A free flow of those who wanted to fight for the “Russian world” did not run out until the spring of 2015. But even then, “people's commanders” began to disappear in the “DPR” and “LPR”, and their detachments were disbanded and poured into new structures under the leadership of “vacationers”. By mid -2015, it became clear to everyone that Moscow was seeking the full unity of unity of unity of command and handling of local armies, and the roasting "people's commanders" will be resolved by all means.

That is why the appearance of a new “people's commander” - even with such a surname - could not take place without the knowledge of Moscow.

Tens of jubilant stories on TV about a decisive Mayor-Zavmopolit, and articles in nationwide tabloids could not go without the knowledge of the Center.

With the help of Zakhar Prilepin, the authorities actually declared a new military appeal. All -Russian set of volunteers on the Donbass. For what? Does this mean that a new round of exacerbation is ahead? Why still we need volunteers?

In this story with Polish Polit Prilepin, it is important to take into account the entire context of what is happening in the “DPR” and “LPR”. And he is quite unambiguous. The armies of the self -proclaimed republics have been experiencing the strongest deficit of manpower over the past two years - who want to fight from the local population. The “fifteen thousand”, as the soldiers' soldiers are called due to fixed payment of military service in the “DPR” (15 thousand rubles per month), become an endangered view.

Two years ago, when Russian military advisers were just starting the formation of the "republican" armies, just local residents should have become their skeleton, as conceived.

The economy of the region destroyed in 2014 threw tens of thousands of people on the streets. Part of the population immediately moved in the territory controlled by Kyiv, but the majority decided to stay. In addition, a significant migration occurred inside the “DPR” and “LPR” themselves: people from small cities rode in search of earnings to large ones - Donetsk, Makeevka, Gorlovka, Lugansk. Military service, guaranteeing a stable salary, has become the only way to survive for many. At the same time, war and military service seemed to most local residents a temporary phenomenon. Applications of the leadership of the self -proclaimed republics that Kyiv will soon be destroyed, if not the army of the “DPR”, then the economic crisis - sound regularly. In fact, the “LPR” and “DPR” themselves every day fall deeper into the funnel of economic decline and uncertainty. Which, of course, affects the mood of the local population, tired of the war.

By June 2016, the territory of the “Republics” left, according to the Ukrainian interdepartmental coordination headquarters (MKSh) on social support issues, 1,003,824 people (the MKSh records citizens who turned to the resettlement and accommodation). According to another Ukrainian department, the Ministry of Social Policy, even more people left the territory of the “LPR” and “DPR” - 1,785,740 people (the department keeps an account of people who have applied for pension or social assistance at a new place of residence). In Kyiv, they explain the spreading numbers as follows: a delta of 700 thousand people - these are most likely elderly people who are trying to live in two houses. They reissue a pension in Ukraine, but do not want to throw their homes in the "republics".

And yet, at least a million people by the summer of 2016 left the “LPR” and “DPR” irrevocably. And another 700 thousand do not want to break the connections with Ukraine. In such circumstances, the preachers of war and the political officers demand a new party of people. This time they are waiting for live power from Russia - nowhere else.
