Patriotism in emergency mode

The education of Russian youth in the spirit of patriotism is still the main task of the current government. Projects that teach to love their homeland are actively funded and implemented in mass consciousness with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Russian Orthodox Church. Last year, the film "28 Panfilovites," the creation and production of which was personally lobbyed by Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, was released on the screens of Russia. Earlier, the Ministry of Culture supported the initiative to establish the day of patriotism in Russia and celebrate it on August 6 - on the anniversary of the introduction of a grocery embargo in response to the sanctions of the West . In November 2016, the exhibition "Russia - My History" , organized by the Patriarchal Culture Council, opened in Moscow. Its goal is the patriotic education of youth.

This year, the exposition, whose visitors got acquainted with the situation of Christians in the Middle East, studied the military history of Russia and its contribution to the opposition of world terrorism , and plan to transfer it to one of the VDNH pavilions.

The special pride of the organizers is the multimedia of the exhibition: the guests were handed out by virtual reality glasses through which they were supposed to look at posters dedicated to the "grandiose and bright projects of the USSR." The exhibition was visited by Russian President Vladimir Putin , Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev , Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill , Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

After that, the regions were recommended to organize and conduct such exhibitions on their own. In Stavropol, for example, they plan to build a completely new building for a multimedia exhibition by September. And the authorities of Tyumen did not want to complicate their lives. They decided to place a patriotic exhibition on the squares of the current Museum of Fine Arts. The valuable collection of the museum is transported to the premises that are unsuitable for storage of arts. The works of Bryullov, Venetinov, Shishkin, Savrasov, Polenov, Aivazovsky, Repin, Kustodiev, Serebryakova and Kandinsky have already hit. About this Radio Liberty told the Tyumen art critic Elena Kozlova-Afanasyeva:

- Art collections were taken out in an emergency, emergency order for 10 days. 16 collections were taken out - there are classical art, Russian, Western European art, including painting, graphics, sculpture. This is a large fund of Soviet art, contemporary art, decorative art, folk art, and regional, and all-Russian. This whole procedure began with such an emergency, and we still had frosts-minus 25-30 degrees, when all this was transported. Imagine what stress the collections experienced! Today, tomorrow, the last stage of transportation is already classical collections, Russian and Western European. Collections are transported to a new building under construction, it has not yet been fully commissioned.

This is a museum complex, it has been built for a long time, 23 years, and initially it was designed for the collection of the local history museum, which we have in the city in different buildings, historical monuments, including in a church building, and a cult structure. The complex under construction consists of several blocks that are surrendered in stages. To date, the engineering and technical building has been handed over, and the stock is being prepared now, where the collections are being transported. Prior to this, the highest leadership assured that the stock storage was completely ready to receive the exhibits, but we managed to break into this stock, and it turned out that our collections were stored into temporary premises, there are no equipment, finishing work was still underway in separate rooms.

- What can this lead to?

- There is no equipment, so the collections are placed on time areas, all this is stored in a heap, stacks, right on the floor, in boxes, in boxes and so on. This is nowhere to unpack it. Works of different techniques, different times are doomed to stand in such a packed form in the region of six months. And the collection, of course, is threatened with safety. Russian painting, for example, there, both Rokotov, and Borovikovsky, the 18th century, we have a very high-quality section of the Russian portrait of the 18th century, the first half of the 19th century, Savras, Chernetsov, Vorobyov, the second half of the 19th century, the mobility, the turn of the centuries, the "Dorms of Russian artists", the Candine, which has already traveled out, has recently returned to Tyumen.

- And what is the reason for such an emergency moving to a not yet finished room?

- As it turns out, an emergency move is due to the fact that the museum building was urgent to accommodate the multimedia interactive project "Historical Park. Russia. My History". We have these parks now, to put it mildly, are replicated in Russia, these expositions, but as far as I know, I watched materials, and all pavilions are being built everywhere for these parks. And in order to take a building from the museum for a multimedia project, to expose such a danger, I don’t know, in my opinion, this is an unprecedented completely case in Russia, ”said art critic Elena Kozlova-Afanasyeva.

At the time of preparation of the material, the director of the Department of Culture of the Tyumen Region, Viktor Novokauskas, was not available for comments. Elena Usoltseva, Deputy Director of the Tyumen Museum of Fine Arts, assures that moving the exposition to another room is associated with major repairs, and she does not know anything about the Orthodox exhibition:

There is no tragedy, the situation is excessively pumped out

- The building is in a terrible state, the entire base was depressed by a fungus, and the employees themselves wrote to my official notes that the objects are spoiling, that we must get rid of the fungus. Now finally they will make a major overhaul there. Regarding the new stock - it is completely completed, the final documents exist, at the moment I am not a director, only a deputy, so I do not have these documents, but I saw them. Therefore, I believe that there is no tragedy, and this situation is unnecessary.

- What about the Orthodox interactive exhibition "Russia. My History"?

- Well, here I can’t tell you anything about this Orthodox exhibition. I can't comment on it. I do not deal with it, I do not develop it, I have not been given any tasks about this. I know that the building is still overhaul.

- I connected to this topic when several museum employees contacted me, worried about the situation. To begin with, they submitted a record of the performance in front of them Natalya Aleksandrovna Shevchik - this is a person who oversees the entire social sphere in the Tyumen region. This, of course, looks terrible! Natalya Aleksandrovna says that all this museum activity is nonsense, and you need to engage in commerce, you need to make light exhibitions, make people like people to go there ... There was such an installation to employees that you are in vain fading your state bread, and there is no sense from you.

But this is not so, this year the museum is 60 years old, our art gallery is considered one of the best in the selection of artistic paintings and other works, one of the best behind the Urals.

- And what is this exhibition - "Russia. My story"? Why do you think that the collection is being transported because of it?

- In parallel with the order of the quick export of exhibits from the museum to the repository, the second order came to develop a thematic plan for the preparation of the multimedia exhibition "Russia. My History". That is, during transportation, they still had to quickly prepare the thematic plan of the exhibition. As far as I understand, the Patriarchal Council for Culture under the Patriarch about a year ago developed such a project that it would be nice to show the new, young generation, in what wonderful country we live, show all its achievements. And here is a multimedia project, expensive equipment, you need a room. They collected governors, deputy governors, who oversee the social sphere, and offered them to turn on immediately. There are no other concerns in our country, the main thing that we lack for complete happiness is a multimedia project. Several governors, as far as I know, immediately refused. The Tyumen region decided, apparently, to take this high bar. But since there is no premises, and no one is going to allocate money for this, to build a pavilion for this - and for this exhibition you need 900 square meters, looking through the road, seeing the “worthless museum of art” there, they decided, here we have an unfinished building of the museum complex, why don’t we move the pictures there, and at this place we will place a multimedia exhibition.

In Tyumen, it is urgent to move art items

In this regard, apparently, events spun since the end of December. Yesterday, several journalists and I escorted on the last journey of the picture of Repin, Savrasov, which we took to this very unfinished one. Photos about how ancient icons are stored there, I would very much like the Patriarchal Council for Culture. How genuine icons are stored! This is to our question about faith, about history, about traditions, about all these wonderful things. Given the fact that they were transported last week, when in Tyumen there was minus 30 degrees ... This is just horror! This does not fit in the head. They lie in the basement, in boxes, in cellophane, tightly pressed to a friend, and what damage there were the actions of officials who are thus trying to promote the multimedia history of Russia, there are already commission and examinations to understand this.

Employees of the Tyumen Museum of Fine Arts sent official statements to the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika and the prosecutor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Vladimirov. They ask to take measures "regarding an emergency situation related to the gross violation of the current legislation on the museum fund and museums and putting the very existence of the museum and the safety of its collections." Also, museum workers are asked to conduct an examination of documents and decisions related to the topic of emergency crossing of the collection. The appeal emphasizes that the museum stores 16 art collections, and in its funds there are now 16 thousand museum items, the cost of which, according to an approximate estimate, is more than 145.75 billion rubles. More than 60 percent of museum items are federal property.
