SpaceX's Dragon cargo ship, due to launch to the ISS on February 18, will deliver the superbug Staphylococcus aureus to the station. antibiotic-resistant
During experiments on board the ISS, scientists are going to investigate the mutations of the microbe. It is assumed that microgravity accelerates this process - thus, in space conditions, it is possible to predict how a bacterium will mutate on Earth.
The launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle with the Dragon spacecraft is scheduled for 18:01 Moscow time. In total, 2.5 tons of cargo will be delivered to the space station. After launch, SpaceX engineers will attempt to land the rocket's first stage for reuse.
