The issue of returning fines for exceeding the speed limit by 10 kilometers per hour under 20 kilometers per hour now is discussed in the government. About this writes "Kommersant".
The publication notes that this is due to the experiment on the establishment of low -format road signs in the center of Moscow. They are 1.2–1.5 times less than standard, and therefore they can be installed on roads with a permitted speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour. At higher speeds, such signs will be unreadable.
As noted in the center of the road traffic organization, the experiment will last about six months, after which it will be decided whether it is advisable to use new pointers.
Until September 1, 2013, a penalty was in charge of speed by 10 kilometers per hour, after the “penalty” was increased to 20 kilometers per hour.
The publication recalls that in 2015 the Ministry of Internal Affairs prepared a bill on the return of a fine for excess speed by 10 kilometers per hour, but this caused drivers' protests.
