Application of the international memorial

Today, February 22, the international historical, human rights and charitable society Memorial made a statement in connection with the second anniversary of the murder of Boris Nemtsov.

Two years ago, on the night of February 27 to February 28, 2015 in the center of Moscow, Boris Nemtsov was shot dead a hundred meters from the Kremlin.

It was a political murder, not the first in post -communist Russia, but there are no guarantees that the latter. The responsibility of the Russian authorities for the planting in the country of atmosphere of hatred of any dissent is obvious. It is this hatred that drives the killers.

On February 26, on the eve of the second anniversary of the murder, the “march of Boris Nemtsov” will be held in Moscow. Its participants intend to honor the memory of Boris Nemtsov, to demand the punishment of not only performers, but also customers of this crime and other political murders in Russia, demand the release of political prisoners, terminate the persecution of dissenters and establish firm guarantees of civil and political freedoms in the country.

The march will pass from the passionate boulevard along the Boulevard Ring and then - along Academician Sakharov Avenue (almost to the intersection with the garden ring).

The collection of participants - from 13:00 to 14:00 at the beginning of the passionate boulevard (metro Pushkinskaya, Tverskaya, Chekhovskaya). The beginning of the movement is at 14:00.

The organizing committee of the march agreed on the route and time with the Moscow authorities.

The Memorial Society calls on everyone who is not indifferent to the future of Russia to come to this march or join the shares in memory of Boris Nemtsov in other cities.
