The court released Ildar Dadin from the Altai colony

The Supreme Court overturned the conviction of activist Ildar Dadin. He was convicted for repeated violation of the picket order and served his sentence in the Altai colony.

The Presidium of the Supreme Court overturned the conviction of activist Dadin on February 22, reports Medizazona . Lawyer Aleksey Liptser explained that his client would be released when a court order came to the colony.

Ildar Dadin became the first convicted for repeated participation in unauthorized actions, including in support of the “prisoners of Bolotnaya”. In early November 2016, he reported being tortured and threatened with rape by employees of Karelian colony No. 7. The Federal Penitentiary Service believes that there were no signs of beating on the man's body.

The story received serious publicity, and the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation commented on it. Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova recommended that Dadin be transferred to another colony. As a result, the prisoner was transferred to IK-5 in the Altai Territory.
