
Theater and film actor, People's Artist of the RSFSR Alexei Petrenko has died at the age of 78. He died on Wednesday 22 February. This was reported on the website of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
“The Union of Cinematographers of Russia mourns together with the family and friends of the outstanding Russian actor Alexei Petrenko. Colleagues of Alexei Vasilyevich offer sincere condolences to his relatives, ”the message says. The cause of death was not specified.
Alexey Petrenko was born on March 26, 1938 in the village of Chemer, Chernihiv region. In 1961 he graduated from the Kharkov Theater Institute. He served in theaters such as the Leningrad Lensovet Theater, the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, the Moscow Art Theater, and the School of Modern Play. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Patriarchal Council for Culture.
