Senator McCain "Secretly" visited Syria

US Senator John McCain “secretly” met with the American military and Kurds in Syria. Officials told the Wall Street Journal about this.

According to the newspaper, McCain visited the city of Kobani, where he discussed ways to combat the Islamic State.

“[Senator] last week went to Northern Syria to meet with the American troops unfolded there and discuss actions to combat the“ Islamic state ”, as well as the current operation to liberate the [unofficial capital of ISIS] of the city of RAKKI,” a representative of McCaine told the publication.

The Wall Street Journal noted that McCain became the first congressman to go to the territory controlled by the Kurds. The latter during the conversation recommended that the United States “pushing into the background” cooperation with the Kurds, which the White House considers as its allies in Syria.
