Savchenko came to the DPR to visit Ukrainian prisoners of war

The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko and the head of the Ukrainian Center for the Liberation of Prisoners "Officer Corps" Vladimir Ruban arrived in Donetsk to visit Ukrainian prisoners of war. This was reported by the Donetsk news agency with reference to the Ministry of State Security of the self -proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

"Savchenko, together with Ruban, arrived in the Makeevsky colony in order to visit Ukrainian prisoners of war," Interfax quotes the unnamed representative of the Ministry of Defense of the DPR.

Against this background, in Kiev, Savchenko was accused of inciting the Ukrainian military to commit a coup in the country, Ukrainian Pravda reports.

“This week, she attended the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and incited military personnel to leave their positions, come to Kyiv and commit a coup,” said the Verkhovna Rada deputy Tatyana Rychkova from the rostrum of parliament on February 24. According to her, the witnesses of this were the fighters of the 79th and 80th separate landing and scraping brigades.

Rychkova asked to fix her speech as a deputy request with a request to verify Savchenko’s actions for the law. The deputy appealed to the Prosecutor General and the SBU demanding to start criminal proceedings on this subject.

Later it became known that the SBU intends to hold a conversation with Savchenko to visit Ukrainian prisoners of war in Donetsk, as well as to verify Rychkova’s information that Savchenko "incited existing Ukrainian military personnel to overthrow power."

“We do not follow the people's deputies especially, but having received information from the People’s Deputy Rychkova, we will definitely check this data without even expecting the official appeal of Mrs. Rychkova,” explained Alexander Tkachuk (Interfax quote).

He emphasized that "these are too serious accusations to ignore them." Tkachuk added that the head of the SBU Vasily Gritsak had already instructed military counterintelligence to carry out the appropriate work, interview the military, which was spoke about the deputy Rychkov.

“Accordingly, according to the results of this audit, we will inform the public,” said Tkachuk. The SBU representative also explained that in connection with the information that has appeared, the criminal case will not yet be opened, only a preliminary verification is carried out.

Earlier this week, Savchenko publicly announced the rejection of deputy inviolability.

Savchenko once herself participated in hostilities in the Donbass on the side of Ukraine. In March 2016, she was convicted by the Russian court to 22 years in a colony in the case of the murder of VGTRK journalists Igor Korneluk and Anton Voloshin in eastern Ukraine. She did not admit her guilt.

On May 25, 2016, after pardon by President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin was exchanged at the Russian prison convicted in Ukraine for 14 years of the prison of Russians Evgeny Erofeev and Alexander Alexandrov. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko awarded Savchenko the title of Hero of Ukraine.

Since returning to her homeland, Savchenko has repeatedly criticized colleagues in the Rada and the authorities of Ukraine, and also acted with various initiatives contradicting the official position of Kyiv.

In December 2016, Savchenko in Minsk met with the leaders of the DPR and LPR, for which she was sharply criticized in the Rada. Savchenko was later excluded from the Fatherland faction in parliament, she was also taken out of the Ukrainian delegation PACE and from the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense.

In January, Savchenko stated that the Ukrainian authorities need to abandon the Crimea in order to return the Donbass. She does not see another peaceful way of leaving the impasse in the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

In early February, in an interview with journalists, Savchenko called the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko an enemy of the people. In her opinion, it is he who is guilty that Ukrainians live worse and worse.
