Two employees of a sawmill in the Akshinsky district of Transbaikalia were suspected of stealing the employer's YuMZ tractor, reports the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to investigators, a 40-year-old resident of the village of Bytev and his 27-year-old partner were drinking in the evening on the territory of the sawmill and decided to go buy alcohol when the booze ran out.
“To do this, they used a tractor, which they drove to the village, drained the diesel fuel from the fuel tank and exchanged it with local residents for vodka. On the way back, the vehicle’s chassis broke down, so the attackers left the tractor in the forest and returned on foot to the sawmill, where they continued the feast,” reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On the morning of February 25, the head of the logging enterprise contacted the police. A criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code (wrongful seizure of a vehicle without the purpose of theft, committed by a group of persons), which carries up to seven years in prison or a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles.
