As the Rain Correspondent reports , Dadin thanked everyone who supported him.
“My wife sometimes said in my hearts that there is no civil society in Russia. If he had not been, then I probably would have gone. Thank you, honest people, I love you, ”he said.
On February 22, the Presidium of the Supreme Court abolished the sentence and decided to release him from the colony. The opposition has the right to rehabilitation and may require compensation for illegal criminal prosecution.
Despite the fact that the decision of the Supreme Court was made on February 22, Dadin was released only four days later. According to the results of the audit, the IR public supervisory commission explained that the IR management did not have formal grounds for liberation, since Dadin was in the room during the broadcast of the meeting of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, without employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service; At the same time, a copy of the court ruling entered the colony only on the morning of February 26.
The day before, the wife of activist Anastasia Zotova turned to the Rubtsovsk prosecutor’s office, asking for a check if the state feldyger service sent to the colony lost. Zotova also threatened to sue the head of the colony for illegally holding a person.
The press service of the FSIN later on February 26 reported that there were no delays in receiving documents on the release of Dadin.
The Basmanny Court of Moscow found Dadin guilty of repeated violations at rallies (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to three years in a general regime colony at the end of 2015. Later, the Moscow City Court reduced this period to two and a half years. The opposition became the first convict under article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which was introduced in 2014.
In addition, on February 22, the Prosecutor General’s Office canceled the refusal to initiate torture in the Karelian colony No. 7, in which Dadin was serving his sentence before the transfer to Altai. The case file is aimed at additional verification.
Dadin complained about torture in the Karelian colony in November 2016. After that, the SK and the FSIN began checks, following which they stated that Dadin’s words were not confirmed. In January, the Karelian Directorate of the SK said that they would verify the legality of the refusal to initiate proceedings on the fact of torture.
