The American company SpaceX is preparing in 2018 to send two space tourists on a weekly flight around the moon. This is stated in the statement on the company's website.
It follows that two people (names are not revealed) have already made a “significant deposit”, and their physical training will begin this year. The flight will be made on the Dragon 2 ship using the Falcon Heavy launch vehicle. The first tests of Dragon 2 and Falcon Heavy are also scheduled for 2017.
As noted in the message, later NASA will operate a ship to transport people to the International Space Station (ISS), but the first flight of the ship to the ISS will be made in “automatic mode” - without people on board.
It is also reported that the use of people invented for transportation Dragon 2 is an “important stage” on the way to the flight of a person on Mars.
Earlier, the founder of SpaceX, Ilon Musk, spoke about the Mars colonization program, and in particular about his desire to settle a million people on Mars to “save humanity from death”.
